What is Communities in Motion, and what does it have to do with orthopaedics?
One in five children in the U.S. has obesity. Those children have an 80 percent chance of becoming an adult with obesity. Obesity and nutrition choices can impact life-long health conditions that lead to soft-tissue damage and osteoarthritis, which makes it an orthopaedic problem. Your AAOS has been a leader in promoting healthy bone and joint behaviors and lifestyle choices.

Members like you help make the 2019 Communities in Motion event possible. Here's how:

  1. Make a financial donation. Learn how the Academy will recognize your generous contribution.
  2. Volunteer on the core advisory committee as we plan the 2019 event.
  3. Volunteer as a Team Doc and/or beautification team member on the day of the event, Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
